A new Mexico City art installation, the “Portal of Awareness,” incorporates 1,497 coffee mugs to demonstrate how everyday items can be used to create art. The installation, designed by Mexico City-based Rojkind Arquitectos to arch over a wide and heavily used city sidewalk, was commissioned by Nescafé, the coffee brand from the Swiss food company Nestlé.
