Coffee and Beer Bar to Take Over Austin’s Progress Coffee Space

Progress Coffee, an eastside Austin roastery, is leaving its popular 5th Street location, which will be taken over by Wright Bros. Brew & Brew, a craft beer and coffee bar.

Progress owner  Joshua Bingaman recently told Culture Map Austin that Progress’ roasting operation will continue in full swing, as will its Lakeway neighborhood retail bar. Progress first opened the eastside shop 10 years ago.

Brew & Brew owners Grady Wright, Matt Wright and Matt Bolick are billing the new concept as “equal parts exceptional coffee shop and neighborhood craft beer bar.” The bar will serve coffee roasted from one of Bolick’s new ventures, a micro roastery called Flat Track Coffee, as well as from other specialty roasters, the group says.
