New Mexico Micro Roastery Raising Cash to Outfit the ‘Bluntmobile’

Blunt Bros. hopes to raise money for bluntmobile espresso truck

A Gallup, New Mexico, micro roastery is turning to Kickstarter with hopes to raise $5,000+ to convert a used FedEx truck into the “Bluntmobile,” a mobile espresso truck.

Roasting from his home with a 3 kg-capacity electric roaster, Dave Rodriguez launched Blunt Bros. Coffee in April 2012, roasting only Fair Trade- and Organic-certified beans from throughout the world. Rodriguez has been operating a coffee stand in Gallup with a full menu of teas and espresso drinks (Blunt Bros. maintains a “No Drips Allowed” motto).

“It’s been a very fast rise to where we are today,” Rodriguez told Daily Coffee News, adding that the Bluntmobile will likely be used year-round for special events and private parties in the Gallup area. “We constantly get requests to do events and special functions and we already have a healthy delivery base, so this should allow us to substantially increase the amount of people we can reach with our profoundly good coffee and espresso in all parts of our community.”

As of this writing, the young Kickstarter campaign had earned just over $500 and counting. Visit the Kickstarter page here.
