Coffee machine manufacturer Nuova Simonelli invited more than 100 coffee professionals from throughout the world last week to officially break ground on a new 32,000-square-foot headquarters, showroom and museum facility adjacent to its 2005 production facility in Fonte Moreto, Belforte del Chienti, Italy.
“The growing leadership of Nuova Simonelli in the world market of professional espresso and cappuccino machines implies the need for the company to offer more and more services, not only with assistance abroad, but also for the increasing number of foreign operators who arrive every month at Belforte del Chienti,” Nuova Simonelli President and CEO Nando Ottavi said in a company announcement. “One location for production, technical design, sales and administrative services is specifically aimed at this.”
Guests on hand, including 2014 World Barista Champion Hidenori Izaki of Japan, autographed the first stones on the new site.
Nuova is investing approximately 3 million Euros ($41 million USD) in the project.
