In today’s episode of Unpacking Coffee, Kandace and Ray explore 13-year-old Joe Coffee, based in New York, which transitioned from operating numerous multiroaster cafés into full-on roasting/retailing with the launch of a roasting operation in mid-2013.
In addition to dissecting some of Joe’s packaging and noting Joe’s most recent Good Food Award — which was handed out this past Friday in San Francisco — Kandace and Ray have a brief conversation with Joe Coffee Director of Roasting Ed Kaufmann, who gets into some of the challenges of sourcing traceable Ethiopian coffees.
