In this week’s episode of Unpacking Coffee, Kandace and Ray catch up with Phillip Brown and Taylor Wyrosdick of Savannah, Ga.-based Perc Coffee Roasters.
Brown founded Perc 10 years ago after cutting his coffee teeth in Athens, Ga., seeing Savannah as a city of specialty coffee opportunity at the time. His instincts proved correct, as Perc quickly grew from a one-man roasting and bike-based delivery operation to a supplier of wholesale accounts throughout the region.
We got into some detail with Brown in 2014 regarding his approaches to roasting and sourcing, and the company last year opened a small retail bar inside its roastery headquarters at 1802 East Broad Street.
Unpacking Coffee is a weekly show discovering new coffee roasters one episode at a time led by Kandace and Ray of the Portland-based studio Needmore Designs, which specializes in coffee, wine and lifestyle brands.
