After nine years of serving its freshly roasted coffee to the people of the Valley of the Sun while building out bars in Scottsdale, Tempe and Chandler, Press Coffee Roasters has opened a downtown Phoenix, Ariz., flagship shop.
Opening inside the new upscale residential development The Muse just shy of one month ago, the new Press café looks out to the Phoenix Art Museum and light rail line, while the interior design led by local firm Lawrence Lake Interiors draws from the surrounding apartment development, including the red and white Arizona Cardinals-esque color scheme.
More than merely visually, the 2,000-square-foot shop expands on Press’ previous bars in numerous directions, offering a coffee lab for public programming and training — including a large cutout of the SCA Coffee Tasters Flavor Wheel adorning the wall — an expanded food menu, and plans to offer beer and wine later this summer.
“I started Press back in 2008 with the idea of a place for coffee, food and wine. This store resurrects that dream at an even higher level,” Press Coffee Roasters Founder and Owner Steve Kraus said in an announcement of the opening. “We’re excited to open our doors and be a part of Downtown Phoenix’ diverse coffee and food community.”
Offering a range of espresso drinks, pourovers and cold brews, the bar includes a custom Synesso machine, white Mahlkonig grinders and Curtis Seraphim brewers.
Press Coffee at The Muse is now open at 1616 N. Central Ave., #102 in Downtown Phoenix, Ariz.

Press Coffee is awesome! I haven’t been to the downtown location yet, but I will soon. Every one you visit, the service and coffee is excellent.
