Full-service coffee roasting and beverage ingredients company Westrock Coffee Company is expanding its financial operations through a “Financial Shared Services Center” at the S&D Coffee & Tea headquarters in North Carolina.
Little Rock, Arkansas-based Westrock completed a $405 million acquisition of S&D, in January of 2020, although the COVID-19 pandemic that followed precipitated widespread job losses at the S&D facility in Concord, North Carolina.

The combined brands currently have approximately 1,200 employees, down from approximately 1,700 in Jan. 2020, according to press announcements from Westrock.
The new financial services unit, which will support domestic business operations, will involve the hiring of some 40 accounting professionals, with plans to “add more positions to accommodate projected growth,” the company said today.
