Coffee machine parts and accessories seller Caffewerks recently rolled out a line of espresso machine components called BaristaFLO.

The BaristaFlo line is designed to offer robust and affordable options for parts that tend to need frequent replacement in routine espresso machine maintenance. Among the 15 products introduced with the in-house-designed line are silicone group gaskets, shower heads, filter baskets puck screens and more, in various sizes to accommodate a range of different machines.

“The BaristaFLO product line was developed based on years of experience using these products in our own machines, as well as those of clients worldwide,” the Olympia, Washington-based company’s owners jointly told DCN via email. “Our goal is to offer OEM-quality espresso machine wear parts at a more accessible price, encouraging users to follow a maintenance routine that involves replacing these parts two to four times a year for consistent quality espresso.”

To further encourage routine-building, the company is promoting its auto-replenishment subscription service for replacement parts, which launched in 2018.

Caffewerks components all meet OEM standards, and some are used as original parts by well-known coffee brands, according to the company.

“We’re proud to work with a global team of designers and manufacturers to bring these innovations to life,” said Caffewerks. “We enjoy collaborating with our network of independent coffee technicians — experts who work with espresso machines daily — and lean on their insights to identify gaps in the market and develop the products they need.”

Caffewerks was founded by engineer and entrepreneur Terry Ziniewicz, whose own chain of coffee stands in the Pacific Northwest in the 1990s under the names Piccolos Espresso and Crazee Espresso led to a coffee parts business that would later become Espresso Parts.

Ziniewicz was also a co-founder of Olympia Coffee Roasters, supported the launch of equipment maker Mavam, and has worked closely with other equipment companies such as Slayer and Brewista. Ziniewicz’s daughter Sara Michelman and son Sean Ziniewicz are now partners and co-owners of the Caffewerks business.

Along with espresso machine parts, Caffewerks offers a range of water pump products for permanent and mobile coffee bar applications, as well as gaskets, screens, rinsers, cleaners and much more. The company recently rolled out a new line of durable flat pack espresso cart kits.

“These products are being refined with each production run based on current use models in the field,” the owners said. “The specialty coffee industry has grown and continues to adapt to new brewing methods, equipment and workflow. Caffewerks intends to be in the place of support each step of the way.”
