In conjunction with its second World of Coffee Asia (WoC) trade show in Indonesia, the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) announced that its 2026 flagship Asia event will take place in Bangkok, Thailand.
The show will be produced by the South Korean events management agency Exporum — which produced the previous two WoC Asia trade shows in Busan and Jakarta, respectively — with support from the Barista Association of Thailand (BAT).
World of Coffee Bangkok will take place May 7-9 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).
While the Jakarta show represented the U.S.- and UK-based SCA’s first-ever major trade show in a predominantly coffee-producing country, the Thailand show similarly promises to address the issues of both producers and consumers of specialty coffee.
“With each World of Coffee in Asia, we see new energy, new perspectives and new opportunities,” Exporum CEO Danny Shin said in an announcement of the event. “Bangkok represents the perfect next step in that journey — an energetic, international city with a strong specialty coffee scene and a growing influence in global coffee conversations.”
Since the merger of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) and the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE), the combined SCA has become increasingly global in its focus.
Beyond its growing trade show footprint — which also includes the Middle East — the world’s largest coffee trade organization recently announced numerous MoUs with national representatives of coffee producers to advance its new Coffee Value Assessment (CVA) protocols for evaluating green coffee quality. The organization is also taking over the Coffee Quality Institute’s Q program.
