German coffee roasting equipment maker Probat announced it is consolidating its U.S. operations in Texas, bringing together groups currently based at Probat Inc. outside Chicago, Bauermeister USA in Memphis and AC Horn in Dallas.

The new Dallas headquarters will be anchored by the AC Horn manufacturing facility, which Probat acquired in early 2024 as part of a broader expansion into industrial food processing systems. AC Horn specializes in popcorn and nut processing equipment.

“By housing key functions under one roof, PROBAT aims to improve communication, accelerate decision-making and strengthen collaboration between its group companies,” the group said in an announcement of the consolidation.

Ellen Nielsen, CEO of Probat Inc. in the U.S., said employees have been offered “individual opportunities to shape their future career paths based on the roles they previously held within the organization” with an emphasis on a “smooth and seamless” transition.

Probat Inc., which was founded in 2010 and also operates the Burns brand in the U.S., previously served as the U.S. headquarters for the Probat brand, with a facility that opened in 2020 in the north Chicago suburb of Lincolnshire.

Bauermeister USA, which specializes in industrial grinding equipment manufacturing, will also relocate to Dallas from Memphis.

“The relocation of the sites has been carefully planned to ensure the optimal use of existing infrastructure and to leverage the high level of vertical integration at the current AC Horn production facility in Dallas,” Probat said today.
