Buck, a Seattle-based mobile payments startup, has launched CoffeeLikeARockstar.com, a new online ordering site designed to remove all waiting from the coffee shop sales experience. The company launched the platform with two participating coffee shops in Burien: The Bean and Burien Press.
The operation of the site — designed for mobile devices — is simple: Consumers choose their coffee shop; they place their order for a fixed price; then they pay using a credit card. For the coffee shop’s part, all that is required is a barista on call with a smart phone. Buck takes 35 cents per order, and coffee shops are invoiced at the end of the month.
Unlike other popular payment platforms, no app is required for either the user or the coffee shop.
