Renowned San Antonio Chef Andrew Weissman is revamping one of his numerous local projects, Sip, with plans to renovate and reopen shortly after the new year as a serious coffee destination.

The four-time James Beard Award nominee and restaurateur behind Il Sogno Osteria, The Sandbar Fish House & Market, The Luxury and Minnie’s Tavern and Rye House, Weissman has announced that the Sip space will be gutted and given an entirely new coffee program featuring roasters from Texas and farther afield.

San Antonio’s Current has the latest news on Weissman’s coffee plans:

Coffee lovers will be happy to know Weissman will carry Austin’s Cuvee Coffee (he also plans to send his staff to Cuvee for training) and Flat Track Coffee, as well as Chicago’s Intelligentsia Coffee. New Sip will try to reclaim its coffee shop feel with new expanded hours—they’ll open slightly earlier than Starbucks and stay open later (probably more so later on in the week).
