Minneapolis roaster/retailer Spyhouse Coffee is planning its fourth location, Spyhouse West, in the Brunsfield North Loop development in the city’s warehouse district.
Each of Spyhouse’s existing three locations has outdone the other in terms of design scope and style, and all tend to have unique interior plans and design touches led by owner and operations director Christian Johnson.
Spyhouse opened its original cafe in the Whittier neighborhood in 2000 (2451 Nicollet Ave S.); followed by an early-American-inspired Uptown location in 2008 (2404 Hennepin Ave S.); and the company unveiled its Amish-barn-wood-filled roasting headquarters and cafe in the arts district in 2013 (945 Broadway St NE).
Spyhouse West, which is being outfitted for a tentative June 2015 opening, will occupy a street-level space inside the 2-year-old Brunsfield luxury residential development, which was designed by Snow Kreilich Architects as a kind of modern foil to the scores of other residential developments inside repurposed warehouse buildings in the district.
