One of the Specialty Coffee Association‘s numerous online coffee gatherings that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic era, the Green Coffee Summit is returning for 2022.
The 2022 Green Coffee Summit, which is free to attend given registration, will be held online on Oct. 18 and 20 with presentations, lectures and panel discussions. The Oct. 18 program will cater to the North American region while the Oct. 20 program will cater to Europe.
Presentations will be specifically geared towards buyers and sellers of green coffee, according to the SCA.
“The live summit will offer buyer-focused content including topics such as digitalization, equitable value distribution, coffee buying ethics and etiquette,” the group said in an announcement of the event’s return today. “The seller-focused content includes market overview videos for the day’s geographic region, with a particular focus on understanding attributes each market values, followed by a live discussion on market insights and characteristics.”

The event is being complemented by an online resource library of original and sponsored content curated by the SCA that will also become a repository for the Summit content.
Conceptually, the Green Coffee Summit and related resource library resemble the SCA’s Coffee Retail Summit, which was also reprised for 2022. Neither event is directly associated with the Roast Summit, an in-person event hosted by Roast magazine that launched in 2019.
