Stumptown President Laura Szeliga Leaves Company
Stumptown Coffee Roasters President Laura Szeliga has left the Portland, Oregon-based company after five years leading the brand. Szeliga announced the departure on LinkedIn, roughly two months after Keurig Dr Pepper acquired Stumptown parent JDE Peet’s. In the post’s final words, Szeliga wrote, “I wish the go forward team much continued success; I hope Stumptown stays Stumptown.”
Dolly Parton Partners Launches a Coffee Brand
Dolly Parton has launched Cup of Ambition, a signature coffee brand made in collaboration with Louisiana-based Community Coffee. The line includes light, medium and dark roasts and will make its public debut June 24 at Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee, before a nationwide release later this year in ground and K-Cup formats.
Wacaco Launches the Prestina Manual Brewer
Hong Kong-based portable coffee equipment maker Wacaco Company Limited has launched the Prestina, a manual immersion brewer that uses the cup itself as the press. The paper-free brewer uses 15 grams of medium-ground coffee, 240 milliliters of water and a one-minute infusion, according to the company. It is available in Sage Green, Clay Pink and Coal Black for $29.90.
Hario Launching New V60 Dripper NEO Colors in Brussels
Japanese coffee equipment maker Hario is adding Amber and Transparent colors to its V60 Dripper NEO line, with a global launch scheduled for June 25. The new drippers are slated to make their first appearance at World of Coffee Brussels.
San Antonio’s Merit Coffee Plans Three Houston Cafes
San Antonio-based Merit Coffee is expanding into Houston with three cafes planned for 2026. The first is expected to open in early July at 5115 Buffalo Speedway in West University, followed by locations in the Heights and Memorial City. Merit currently has 14 locations across San Antonio, Austin and Dallas.
Oregon Coffee Figure Arrested for Alleged Trafficking, Sex and Drug Crimes
Bryan Matthew McGeeney, a The Dalles, Oregon, coffee figure formerly identified as the owner of Hood River’s 10 Speed Coffee, was arraigned June 8 on a 46-count indictment that includes charges of rape, trafficking in persons and delivery of cocaine to a minor, according to the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office.
Guatemala Cup of Excellence Names 27 Winning Coffees
The 2026 Guatemala Cup of Excellence named 27 winning coffees across three categories, with five lots scoring 90 points or higher. The highest-scoring coffee was a 91.86-point natural-process Gesha from El Injerto I, produced by El Injerto Sociedad Anonima in Huehuetenango. The online auction is scheduled for July 23.
International Coffee Partners Releases 2025 Annual Report
Europe-based International Coffee Partners said its projects supported 12,819 smallholder coffee-farming households in Brazil, Honduras, Indonesia, Tanzania and Uganda in 2025. The nonprofit partnership’s 2025 annual report focused on household income, climate resilience, livelihood diversification and women’s participation in farmer training and decision-making.
ICO Says Coffee Prices Fell Again in May
The International Coffee Organization said its Composite Indicator Price averaged 256.05 U.S. cents per pound in May, down 3.8% from April. The ICO said price pressure reflected improved supply expectations, including Brazilian crop agency CONAB’s reaffirmed record outlook for Brazil’s 2026/27 crop.
Philadelphia’s Rival Bros Coffee Launches Founders Blend
Philadelphia-based Rival Bros Coffee has launched Founders Blend, a limited commemorative release marking the U.S. 250th anniversary. The 12-ounce collectible tin release blends washed- and natural-process coffees from the same 45-producer group in Huila, Colombia, with tasting notes of cherry, lemon, berry and caramel.
