There is nothing short of a specialty coffee boom happening in Los Angeles.
The past six months alone have seen an influx of brand new indie bars and micro roasteries, while some well-established players have moved into L.A.’s fertile ground. We present the following as evidence:
Stumptown’s new roastery and bar; New roastery Andante; Verve’s L.A. plans; G&B’s Go Get ‘Em Tiger; Caffe Vitta comes to L.A. Also, check out Hanna Neuschwander’s recent whirlwind L.A. coffee tour.
Now comes Bar Nine Collective, a new roastery and coffee bar planned for Culver City, recently home to Cognoscenti Coffee. A project of Zayde Naquib (formerly of Espresso Cielo and Two Guns Espresso) and business partner Jereme Pitts, the roastery is expected to open sometime in the middle of October, featuring an expansive industrial-feeling space decked out with a huge bar and tons of reclaimed wood.
We hope to bring you more when Bar Nine opens. For now, you can keep up with them on Facebook and Twitter. Also, check out this report from Eater L.A.
