Aurora, CO – MycoTechnology Inc. announced today that their all-natural ReishiSmoothTM process delivers a healthier cup of coffee. The health benefits are derived from the beta-glucans found in the coffee, which have been shown to activate the human immune system.
A study done by Brunswick Laboratories, of Southborough, MA, verified the presence of the beta-glucan compounds in the ReishiSmoothTM coffee. The beta-glucan compounds are imparted into the coffee as a result of the proprietary ReishiSmoothTM process used by MycoTechnology, Inc. to improve the coffee flavor. The Reishi mushroom is used in this process to selectively consume the bitter compounds in raw coffee beans. Along with imparting the health benefits of the mushroom, the processed beans yield a smoother, better tasting coffee than non-processed beans. This process can be applied to a wide variety of coffee beans, with taste tests showing noticeable improvement in the flavor across the board.
The beta-glucans raise the level of macrophages and T-cells in the body, which boost and modulate the immune system. This, in turn, assists the body in fighting cancer and other auto-immune disorders. Beta-glucans, also found in the bran of cereal grains such as oat, have also been found to decrease the risk of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease by lowering blood cholesterol levels.
The Reishi mushroom, Ganoderma Lucidum, was called the ‘mushroom of immortality’ and ‘medicine of kings’ in ancient Eastern medicine and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for more than 2,000 years. There are references to its use as far back as the Han Dynasty in 200 BC. Despite its bitter flavor, the mushroom was dried and ground into tea or food in order to reap the health benefits it offered.
According to Alan Hahn, CEO of MycoTechnology, “Unlike other products with Reishi mushrooms, our coffee flavor is improved by the addition the Reishi compounds and is not bitter. Our ReishiSmoothTM coffee is so smooth; it doesn’t need any cream or sugar. The all-natural process we use makes good coffee great and great coffee even better.”
Several companies have begun to utilize MycoTechnology’s process to improve their coffees. For information on where to buy coffee processed by MycoTechnology, Inc. visit the company’s website at www.mycotechcorp.com and select the “Where to Buy” button.
