Los Angeles-based Groundwork Coffee Company has inked a multi-year deal with the Los Angeles Convention Center to supply coffee for all the venue’s retail kiosks and catering operations, including two Groundwork-branded cafes.
Groundwork also becomes the official coffee supplier for LACC’s new “Taste of L.A.” program, in which the center’s restaurant operations will be revamped to create “new dining options in line with the city’s culinary star power.”

“Groundwork exemplifies the direction of Taste of L.A., utilizing a local company with a great product, socially responsible business model, organic products and sustainable practices,” LACC Vice President and GM Brad Gessner said in an announcement this week.
The new Groundwork shops will be in the South and West halls of the center, featuring reclaimed wood panels contrast with stainless steel countertops and La Marzocco espresso machines.

Groundwork currently mains an L.A. roastery that supplies its existing seven retail locations locally, with an emphasis on certified organic coffees. The company also sells bagged whole bean coffee and bottled cold brew coffees to local and regional grocery accounts including Whole Foods. The company’s Angel City blend will become LACC’s house coffee.
The LACC is run by AEG Facilities, which operates dozens of convention centers, arenas and other entertainment and event facilities throughout the world.
