New York City-based coffee chain Bluestone Lane is getting a new CEO at the end of this month, as longtime hospitality executive Edie Ames takes over for founder Nicholas Stone.

Stone, who founded Bluestone Lane in 2013 during his career as an investment banker, plans to adopt the role of executive chairman, according to the company.

“With Edie joining, we are putting in place a structure that will enable us to accelerate our business for many years to come,” Stone said in an announcement of the executive transition. “I’m excited to collaborate with Edie while continuing to lead many of our strategic growth initiatives including Partnerships and International, while also taking the opportunity to explore some of my other business interests. I greatly look forward to working with Edie and the team over the years to come.”

Ames joins Bluestone Lane after most recently serving as the CEO of Tastes on the Fly, an airport-focused hospitality company. She has previously held management or executive positions with companies such as Wolfgang Puck Catering, Morton’s The Steakhouse and California Pizza Kitchen.

Stone oversaw Bluestone Lane’s growth from a single location to the current 65 locations in 10 U.S. markets. The company received an investment from the billionaire-owned firm RSE Ventures in 2018 worth approximately $19.5 million
