A Taiwanese convenience store chain is using an edible powder distributed from computer-controlled print heads to take customized latte art to the next level.
We’ve seen spectacular 3D latte art and we’ve seen barista bots poorly etching faces in foam from facial recognition software, and now the Taiwanese chain Let’s Cafe allows coffee drinkers to upload a photo of themselves to a store coffee kiosk. The photo is reproduced with almost creepy fidelity, and then the consumer can presumably slurp his or her self away.
“By owning latte art, the perceptions of Let’s Café’s coffee credibility and its sales went up,” Let’s Cafe said in this promotional video, where you can get a look at some of the powder-and-foam photos.
