The California-based Specialty Coffee Association has announced that its 2025 World Coffee Championships will be taking place in four different cities on three continents.
The announcement came on the eve of the globally focused organization’s flagship annual European trade show, World of Coffee, in Copenhagen.
2025 World Barista Championship
As previously announced, the 2025 World Barista Championship will take place in conjunction with the massive HostMilano trade show at the Fiera Milano complex on the outskirts of Milan, Italy, which will run Oct. 17-21 of next year.
It would be the second time the WBC has been held in Milan in the event’s 24-year history.
2025 World Brewers Cup
The 2025 World Brewers Cup will take place at World of Coffee Jakarta in Indonesia, which is being held at Jakarta Convention Center on May 15-17, 2025.
Hosted by SCA Indonesia, the show is being produced through a licensing agreement with show producer Exporum, the Korea-based firm that currently produces trade shows under the CafeShow name in Korea and Vietnam.
The event would mark the first time the manual-brewing-focused World Brewers Cup took place in a major coffee-producing country.
2025 World Latte Art, World Coffee in Good Spirits, World Cezve/Ibrik and World Cup Tasters Championships
The 2025 World Latte Art, World Coffee in Good Spirits, World Cezve/Ibrik and World Cup Tasters Championships will all be held in conjunction with the World of Coffee Geneva (Switzerland) event, taking place June 26-28 of next year at the Palexpo center.
2025 World Coffee Roasting Championship
The 2025 World Coffee Roasting Championship will take place at Specialty Coffee Expo in Houston, which is scheduled to run from April 25-27 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The Expo is the SCA’s largest annual North American trade show.
The group has not yet announced the dates and locations of the 2025 U.S. Coffee Championships, each of which must precede the corresponding World Coffee Championships.
